These are the issues we will want to discuss with you during the interview, and it will save time for both of us for you to provide the information prior to the telephone conversation.
- Do you live in a house, apartment or condo, and number/ages of family members in the household:
- Do all of the adults in the residence work outside the home, and if yes, who will care for the puppy during the day?
- Do you presently own a Labrador Retriever, and if yes, what is the age and gender? Have you ever owned a Labrador Retriever and what were the circumstances?
- Why do you want a Labrador Retriever at this time?
- Do you presently have any pets? And if yes, what type of pets?
- Do you have a fenced yard, and if yes what type of fencing and size of contained area?
- Will the dog be primarily an inside or outside dog, and where will the dog sleep at night?
- Have you ever housetrained a puppy, and if yes, what method did you use?
- Have you ever crate trained a puppy, and if yes, what method did you use?
- What are your plans for the Labrador Retriever's future, such as Companion only, Hunting, Obedience, Conformation, Breeding? Would you agree to a minimum of qualified obedience training for you Labrador Retriever?
- Are you familiar with the difference between AKC full registration and limited registration, and what is your opinion on this matter?
- Would you be receptive to delaying any plans for spay/neuter of your Labrador Retriever, based on research supporting the health benefits of delaying this procedure? If yes, are you prepared to protect and prevent unwanted breedings? What is your opinion?
- What is your gender and color preference in a Labrador Retriever, and why?
- How did you find us? Was it a referral?
